Gems for Janey....

Back in March I was lucky enough to be involved in supplying the flowers for a shoot for the Spring/Summer 2011 edition of Pure Weddings Magazine.  The magazine feature entitled 'Sparkle to last a lifetime' showcases beautiful wedding jewellery by Preston's of Bolton .

The shoot was styled by the very lovely JANEY BUTLER from Sweet Days and Roses .

Sweet Days and Roses is a bespoke Wedding Planning and Design Company which creates visually stunning and individual weddings.  Janey's style, her attention to detail and her passion for all things vintage make her company and services truly unique.

Her talents can be clearly seen from the resulting images.  She assisted the jewellers in picking out the beautiful pieces, sourced flowers from myself, Rosa and Company and beautiful cupcakes from Magical Cakes .  She brought along beautiful props such as tea lights, vintage perfume bottles and vintage buttons.  Everything was absolutely gorgeous.

The absolutely stunning photography was by Matthew Stansfield .  Matthew is a Manchester photographer who shoots fashion, food, lifestyle, interiors portraits and weddings.  Working freelance he has worked on some fantastic projects and photographed some amazing people including George Best, Joan Collins and the Grand Dame of fashion herself, Vivienne Westwood.

It was great watching Matthew at work and my favourite image from the shoot is this one, which is also one of the main images of the feature.....
For my part I chose a soft colour palette of pinks, creams and lilacs by using pale pink Sweet Avalanche roses, champagne Vandella roses and added a vintage feel by using Amnesia and Hypnoses roses.  I wrapped the stems of a rose posy in antique style lace, added some buttons and a brooch and used vintage inspired containers for my arrangements, such as a cut glass rose bowl.

It was an absolute joy working on this project and seeing the beautiful feature in Pure Weddings magazine was just great.  The spring/summer edition is out now priced £1.95 and is published by Archant Life
