Feeling Blue

For various reasons I have been feeling a little blue this week. So what better way to lift the spirits than to embrace all that is beautiful and blue.
Blue is a great colour as a theme for a wedding with shades ranging from delicate pastels to rich deep classic navy.  It can be mixed with soft pale colours such as pinks and creams or deep jewel colours like fuchsia, purple and orange. It can be bold and modern, classic, or pale delicate and vintage inspired.

So 'without further a blue'.....I mean, 'without further a do', have a look at my pick of the best.

Firstly, be inspired by these beautiful images by the very lovely and very talented Jenny McAvoy from www.mcavoyphotography.co.uk . McAvoy Photography is a husband and wife team who the capture mood, emotion and atmosphere of your special day so that you can treasure and re-live it for ever.

I used blue delphiniums mixed with cream Avalanche and the pale pink Sweet Avalanche roses together with a touch freesia for one of my real weddings at the Stanneylands Hotel, Wilmslow, Cheshire.www.primahotels.co.uk/stanneylands/

Flowers and images below by Rosa and Company.  Well... they are more 'snaps' than images when compared to Jenny's beautiful work above.

And if you want more inspiration in blue then feast your eyes on this beautiful cake by Samia at The Vanilla Cake Shop www.vanillacakeshop.co.uk  This image is taken from her beautiful website.
The cake would co-ordinate with this gorgeous range of wedding stationery by Nikki at Knots and Kisses www.knotsandkisses.co.uk

Knots and Kisses offer gorgeous bespoke and 'off the peg' stationery.  They provide a full service from Invitations, Order of Service,  Menu Cards and hand painted Table Plans.

So whether you love something pale and delicate or deep and bold there is a shade of blue to suit everyone.  As for me....well I'm now feeling 'in the pink'.
